Organic Blanc Hops launched commercially in 2012 from the Hop Research Centre in Hüll. Breeders developed Hallertau Blanc from American Cascade.
As the breeding suggests, Blanc offers fruitier-than-typical continental hop characteristics, perfect for paler styles. The name Blanc is derived from Sauvignon Blanc, a grape variety with which Hallertau Blanc shares some aromas.
