Simcoe hops were developed as YCR 14 by Yakima Chief Ranches and released by the Select Botanicals Group in 2000.
Brewers can use Simcoe for bittering, but it performs best as a flavour or dry hop. Its pungent, deep pine character combines with tropical aromas, particularly passionfruit.
