The Fuggle hop offers an earthy, grassy, and slightly minty aroma profile. These notes are soft and well-integrated, making the hop ideal for traditional beer styles. Fuggle hops are not particularly bitter but excel when used for aroma or in combination with higher-alpha varieties.
This hop shines in English bitters, milds, porters, and stouts. When used late in the boil or during dry hopping, Fuggle hops contribute gentle aromatics that complement roasted and caramel malts. They provide balance and depth without overwhelming the other ingredients.
