Liberty hops originate from a cross made in 1983, it is a triploid seedling of the Hallertauer Mittelfruh. It was released as a variety in 1991. Liberty displays many characteristics of its noble heritage, but with an extra hint of lemon and lime citrus on the predominantly herbal background.
